Did you know the jie qi are like the nodes of bamboo??
Bamboo plants create nodes to hold water and nourishment which feed the next node, much like the nourishment and care we give ourselves today will support us through the next seasonal node of summer solstice, and beyond.
ALSO! Bamboo is one of the junzi (4 gentlemen/4 noble ones), celebrated in Chinese art and culture for its virtues of humility and simplicity. The flexibility and strength of the bamboo stalk also came to represent the human values of cultivation and integrity in which one yields but does not break. You can witness its strength on the city streets of China, used as scaffolding along the sides of buildings - it is incredible to witness.
I LOVE finding ways to connect as a microcosm of the macrocosm… what do you observe creating aha moments in your life or practice?
