Menopause is hot! Or at least, it’s in the news lately.
- Menopausal challenges are more than just hot flashes.
- Severity of certain symptoms is associated with more heart problems and stroke down the road.
- Perimenopausal arthritis is a thing. Indeed, Fibromyalgia has a huge overlap with patients in early and peri-menopause. Who knew? Not the doctors treating them apparently.
And yet, the news is not all bad. Like pregnancy and birth, menopause can be an important and extremely positive growth stage, as well as an opportunity to leave behind unwanted personal baggage.
Join our study group as we explore the many faces of menopause – for our patients, and perhaps ourselves as well. The group started with an in-person retreat, and includes an inter-generational mix of everyone from longtime women’s health practitioners to students. Beyond the invaluable community of practice, online resources in the group will include:
- Monthly Case Discussion/Clinical Q&A meetings with Lisa Taylor-Swanson and Claudia Citkovitz
- Ongoing, moderated forum for timely questions and big picture discussions
- Library corner, with group discussion/review of menopause-related books (EAM and
biomed) as well as relevant research publications - Videos of short talks and qigong/daoyin exercises that can be downloaded for patients
