3 CEUs Pending (NCCAOM & California)
In a collaborative environment over three, one-hour sessions we will explore Ehlers Danlos Syndrome with special emphasis on hypermobile EDS, the most common subtype. After exploring a few lenses through which to view the condition, including traditional TCM disease progression, we will discuss the seven most common complaints/comorbidities that practitioners are likely to encounter in treating this population. Treatment options that cover the majority of your scope of practice will be discussed: acupuncture including electrical stimulation acupuncture, herbal formulas, body work, diet and lifestyle recommendations will all be addressed. Safety considerations will be raised. Resources for practitioner and patient will be highlighted to support practitioners as they treat this often-dismissed population. Hopefully, during all of this we will enjoy one another's company and collective insights and wisdom too.

Sharonne O'Shea attended Bastyr University where she received an MS in Acupuncture. She later received a Certificate in Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine from Middle Way Acupuncture School, following a love of plants instilled by her grandmother. Sharonne's perspective and practice are informed by her own experience living with a chronic condition. She practices in Olympia, Washington. (And her bio photo was taken at "Peony Paradise" near Salem, OR which lives up to its name.)
