Do you need to already be a Japanese acupuncture specialist to study Japanese acupuncture in Japan?
ABSOLUTELY NOT.
White Pine Circle members are invited to join Heather “Maya” Suzuki, L.Ac. and ShinKyu University for In-Touch Japan 2026. In-Touch Japan 2026 is a fully translated, hands-on study experience held at Toyoshinkyu College of Oriental Medicine in Tokyo — the school where Maya completed her Japanese acupuncture and moxibustion training.
This is a rare opportunity to study Japanese acupuncture and moxibustion inside a traditional school in Japan, with language support throughout the experience.

Toyoshinkyu’s roots go back to 1927, when Sorei Yanagiya founded Sorei Shinkyu Juku, which later developed into Toyoshinkyu College of Oriental Medicine. Yanagiya is recognized as an important figure in modern Japanese acupuncture and moxibustion, and Toyoshinkyu continues to carry forward a strong emphasis on classical study, practical technique, and clinical training.
This workshop is designed for practitioners who want more than inspiration. The goal is for you to return home with techniques you can actually understand, feel, practice, and begin using in clinic.

This is not simply a sightseeing trip with a class attached.
It is a chance to feel Japanese medicine in context — inside a traditional Japanese acupuncture school, learning alongside Japanese faculty, students, and practitioners, with translation, guidance, and the support of someone who has personally trained there.
For White Pine Circle members, who already value deep study, mentorship, clinical nuance, and community, this experience offers a beautiful bridge into Japanese acupuncture and moxibustion as it is taught, practiced, and passed on in Japan.
The classes are centered around practical clinical usefulness. You will not just watch techniques from across the room. You will have the chance to observe, ask questions, practice, and refine your hands so that you can come home with something helpful and immediately relevant to your patients.
You will also learn from experienced Japanese teachers, including Haruko Suzuki-sensei 鈴木春子先生, known for her work in cancer palliative care acupuncture. Her work is a powerful example of how gentle, precise, patient-centered Japanese acupuncture can create meaningful clinical change.
A small number of Global Access Rates are available by application for committed practitioners across different regions.
