Sharon Weizenbaum starts the herb series with Shao Yao.
Shao Yao is a key herb in many classical and modern formulas such as Gui Zhi Tang, Xiao Jian Zhong Tang, Dang Gui Shao Yao San, Xiao Yao San, and many more. It will offer its gifts in different ways depending on if it is combined with Gui Zhi, Dang Gui, or Zhi Shi. Adjusting the dosage also makes a difference on its action.
