Three Part Series
6 PDA/CEUs
The world can be a challenging place for those children and teenagers who are neurodiverse. These young people may experience physical, mental and emotional challenges which are far greater than the usual ups and downs of childhood.
Acupuncture is a fantastic method of supporting these young people. It can address specific physical or mental-emotional difficulties, help them to feel more comfortable in their own skin and ease the intense emotions that may arise as a result of living in a world which is not really geared towards their needs.
During the course, we will look at the specific patterns of imbalance that often crop up in neurodiverse children and teens, effective treatment strategies, useful non-needle techniques and specific patient management strategies for this demographic. You will gain the confidence and skills to be able to start offering much-needed support to these young people now.

- Session 1
During this first class, we will look at the possible causes of the increased incidence of neurodiversity from our Chinese Medicine perspective. We will also look at some of the challenges that these children face, and the pathologies that they often present with. - Session 2
During this second session, we will continue to look at some of the pathologies most commonly seen in neurodiverse young people. We will then turn our attention to how to effectively treat them with acupuncture and related techniques. - Session 3
In this last session, we will continue to look at effective treatment strategies for neurodiverse children and teenagers. We will also discuss strategies to build a strong, therapeutic relationship with this demographic, as well as how to manage expectations with the family. We will finish by looking at some case histories which will illustrate much of our prior learning.
